2 lb
6 Tbsp
butter (for extra buttery flavor add 2 more tbsp)
1 c
milk or cream
1 1/2 Tbsp
salt (add less or more to your liking)
1/4 tsp
black pepper

How to Make Buttery Mashed Potatoes


  • 1Peel and cut potatoes into 1 1/2-2 inch pieces, rinse and place in medium size pan with 1/2 tbsp. of salt & water over medium heat. Cook until fork slides in and out of potatoes easily, strain and then begin step two.
  • 2Return strained potatoes back to the pan, begin mashing them with a potato masher until the clumps are gone. (you can also use a electric hand mixer if preferred)
  • 3Add milk slowly while mixing along with the butter and salt & pepper to your preference. Once all mixed up put in a bowl and serve.
