buttery mashed potatoes

The only problem with this buttery bowl of happiness is its hard to stop testing once they're done. My whole family loves them especially on holidays. Hope you like them too, Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 6 tablespoons butter (for extra buttery flavor add 2 more tbsp)
  • 1 cup milk or cream
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons salt (add less or more to your liking)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

How To Make buttery mashed potatoes

  • Step 1
    Peel and cut potatoes into 1 1/2-2 inch pieces, rinse and place in medium size pan with 1/2 tbsp. of salt & water over medium heat. Cook until fork slides in and out of potatoes easily, strain and then begin step two.
  • Step 2
    Return strained potatoes back to the pan, begin mashing them with a potato masher until the clumps are gone. (you can also use a electric hand mixer if preferred)
  • Step 3
    Add milk slowly while mixing along with the butter and salt & pepper to your preference. Once all mixed up put in a bowl and serve.
