An easy stuffing to make, but eye-appealing and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick whole wheat bread, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 - shallots, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 - granny smith apple, peeled, shredded
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - a handful of cranberries for garnish

How To Make sausage & apple stuffing w/ sage & cranberries

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 350. Spray a lg casserole dish w/ cooking spray. Place bread cubes in a bowl, sprinkle bread w/ broth. Let sit 5 mins. Mash bread w/ a fork. Stir in egg.
  • Step 2
    Stir in shallots and sage. Add crumbled sausage and apple. Season w/ salt and pepper. Spoon mix into casserole dish.
  • Step 3
    Bake 30-45 mins, or until top is browned nicely, and sausage is cooked through. Garnish w/ cranberries, sprinkled over top of casserole.
