Ingredients

2 slice
thick whole wheat bread, cut into cubes
1/4 c
chicken broth
1 large
egg, lightly beaten
2
shallots, finely chopped
1 Tbsp
fresh sage, chopped
1 lb
bulk pork sausage
1
granny smith apple, peeled, shredded
salt and pepper to taste
a handful of cranberries for garnish

How to Make Sausage & apple stuffing w/ sage & cranberries

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat oven to 350. Spray a lg casserole dish w/ cooking spray. Place bread cubes in a bowl, sprinkle bread w/ broth. Let sit 5 mins. Mash bread w/ a fork. Stir in egg.
  • 2Stir in shallots and sage. Add crumbled sausage and apple. Season w/ salt and pepper. Spoon mix into casserole dish.
  • 3Bake 30-45 mins, or until top is browned nicely, and sausage is cooked through. Garnish w/ cranberries, sprinkled over top of casserole.
