Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cups sliced potatoes, fresh
  • 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • butter

How To Make layered sausage-potato casserole

  • Step 1
    Add sausage to a non-stick skillet and brown -- drain well on paper towels.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl, combine soup, milk, onion, salt and pepper and mix well.
  • Step 3
    In a prepared casserole dish, add a layer of potatoes, soup mixture and sausage. Repeat layers ending with sausage.
  • Step 4
    Dot top with butter and bake at 350 degrees for approx. 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours. Ten minutes before casserole is done, sprinkle with grated cheese and return to the oven until cheese is melted.
