homemade baked beans
This was my mom's recipe that she handed down to me. I always loved her baked beans. This can easily be doubled or more for large crowds of people. Perfect for a potluck or cookout. You can also bake this in a crock pot to take with you. Just bake for about 4-6 hours in crock pot instead of in oven. For the mustard, I like Dijon, but I have also used yellow mustard or Gulden's spicy mustard.

Ingredients
- 40 ounces can navy or great northern beans, do not drain
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
- 1/4 cup dark molasses (not karo or corn syrup)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 to 3/4 cups ketchup (to your taste)
- 1 tablespoon mustard (your favorite kind)

Step 1Mix all ingredients together in a large casserole.

Step 2Bake at 350 degrees, covered, for approximately one hour and fifteen minutes.
