This is my mother's traditional coveted and beloved Thanksgiving side dish. The kids love it! She always makes extras in "care package" containers to send home with each family to reheat later.

Ingredients
- POTATO MIXTURE
- 4 cups yams, cooked, peeled and mashed
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 stick butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- TOPPING:
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup pecans, in pieces
How To Make gram's sweet potato soufflé

Step 1Combine all potato mixture ingredients and pour into a buttered 9 x 13 baking dish.

Step 2Combine topping ingredients then crumble over potato mixture.

Step 3Bake @ 350 degrees 35 - 40 minutes uncovered until bubbly and lightly browned on top.
