betty's chicken flavoured mashed potato pie

Comfort food at its best! Extra creamy mashed potatoes mixed with a sachet of cream of chicken soup and baked topped with cheese. I serve this in winter as a side dish almost weekly. Even more amazing when paired with gravy.

Ingredients

  • 6 - 8 potatoes. 6 large or 8 medium
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 package cream of chicken soup sachet (maggi brand)
  • 1 small package sour cream ( 1 cup)
  • 1 cup grated cheese (can use less)

How To Make betty's chicken flavoured mashed potato pie

  • Step 1
    Pre-heat oven to 180oC/375oF and well grease a 10 cup capacity oven proof dish (a medium casserole dish is what I use).
  • Step 2
    Peel and chop potatoes into even sizes - smallish cooks faster. Mash and add everything else except the cheese. Top with cheese and bake for 30 minutes and bubbly golden on top. Cool for 5 minutes and serve.
