Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup uncooked wild rice
- 1/2 cup beef consomme, undiluted
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 3/4 cup celery, chopped
- 3/4 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup dry sherry or dry white wine
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
How To Make wild rice with mushrooms

Step 1Combine first 3 ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Step 2Melt butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms, celery and onion; saute' 10 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently.

Step 3Add mushroom mixture, sherry or wine, and pepper to rice mixture; and stir well. Cook over medium heat, uncovered, 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed, stirring frequently.
