side essentials: spicy rice dish
Pulled this together, just for a different rice dish. It definitely has a kick to it, but not overly so. The Sriracha and hot sauce give it some heat, and the lemon pepper spice add a bit of tang. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- PLAN/PURCHASE
- 1 tablespoon sweet butter, unsalted
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock, hot
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce, i prefer frank’s
- 1 - 2 teaspoons lemon pepper spice

Step 2You will need a medium saucepan with a lid to make this recipe

Step 3To make this a meal in a bowl, add some ground beef, pork, or chicken; even fish works great. In my photo I added some ground beef… Yummy.

Step 4Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

Step 5Add the butter to a saucepan over medium heat, allow to melt, then add the rice, and stir until translucent, about 3 – 4 minutes. Add the hot chicken stock, and the remainder of the ingredients, and stir to combine.

Step 6Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and allow to simmer until all the liquid has been absorbed, about 18 – 20 minutes.

Step 7PLATE/PRESENT

Step 8Stir in some ground beef, pork, chicken, or shredded fish and serve as a meal in a bowl. Or leave as is and serve as a side. Enjoy.
