"rice-a-roni" mix

I found this online in my endeavor to avoid store bought convenience type foods. I keep a batch of it in my pantry in an air tight jar.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups white rice is preferred but i use brown
  • 1 cup broken vermicelli
  • 1/4 cup dried parsley flakes
  • 6 tablespoons beef or chicken boullion granules
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme

How To Make "rice-a-roni" mix

  • Step 1
    Combine all ingredients into an airtight container.
  • Step 2
    Shake before measuring out.
  • Step 3
    Brown 1 cup mix in 2 tbsp butter.
  • Step 4
    Add 2-2 1/4 cup water & simmer, covered until done.
