How To Make luau rice
-
Step 1Wash rice thoroughly and add to saucepan along with 2 cups water. Allow rice to completely cool and place in the refrigerator; preferably overnight.
-
Step 2Toast coconut in a non-stick skillet until it is toasty brown. Remove and set aside.
-
Step 3Place coconut oil, onions, garlic and ginger in the pan - cook until they begin to release their aroma. Add the ham and cook until golden brown.
-
Step 4Add cooked rice, bouillon powder and white pepper and mix quickly in your pan until all of the rice is covered evenly with coconut oil and seasoning. Add the pineapple, green onions and toasted coconut into the mixture and continue stirring, just until warmed. Serve topped with macadamia nuts, toasted coconut and green onions.
