vegetable oil
2 c
sliced mushrooms
1 clove
garlic, minced
1/2 tsp
curry powder
1/4 tsp
cumin seeds
1 c
chicken broth
1 c
fresh sliced green beans (or frozen and thawed)
1/2 c
long grain white rice, uncooked
4 slice
canadian bacon, cut into thin strips
1/4 tsp
ground black pepper
salt, to taste

How to Make Curried Rice and Green Beans


  • 1Heat oil in medium saucepan. Add mushrooms and garlic; cook and stir over medium-low heat about 5 minutes.
  • 2Add curry powder and cumin seed, if desired; cook and stir 30 seconds.
  • 3Add chicken broth; bring to a boil. Stir in green beans and rice. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer about 18 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • 4Stir in Canadian bacon and pepper, and salt if needed. Heat just until bacon is hot.
