- 2 large onions, chopped
- - fist size chunk of salt pork or bacon, chopped
- 1 cup rice
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1/2 large can of tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon celery seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- - grated cheese
How To Make camp rice

Step 1Cut up the onions and salt pork and brown them a little in a kettle.

Step 2Add 2 cups boiling water and a cup of rice. Don't stir. Cook until soft about 20 to 30 minutes. ---------------------OR----------------------------- Put the pork, onions, rice, and water into a rice cooker and cook until done.

Step 3Be heating a half large can of tomatoes, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 teaspoon celery seed, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Add this to the cooked rice and sprinkle on grated cheese.
