I love the taste and texture of basmati rice! This is a fast and wonderful way to prepare it!!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 - onion,chopped
  • 1 cup long grain basmati rice
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup sliced scallions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

How To Make basmati rice

  • Step 1
    On medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent about 3 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add the rice and stir well to fully coat with butter. Add the water and salt, cover and cook until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender, about 20 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Turn off the heat and allow to sit covered for 5-10 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add the scallions and parsley, fluff with a fork and serve.
