yams, peeled and sliced

orange peel, finely shredded
1/2 c
orange juice
1 Tbsp
brown sugar
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/8 tsp

How to Make Yams For Health


  • 1In a large skillet, bring 1" of water to a boil; add yams.
  • 2Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or until they are tender.
  • 3Drain.
  • 4In a small bowl, mix orange peel, orange juice, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon and allspice.
  • 5Pour over yams in skillet.
  • 6Cook and stir until bubbly.
  • 7Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, spooning sauce over potatoes occasionally to make a glaze.
