Ingredients

  • 3 slice
    bacon, uncooked cut into pieces
  • 1 1/2 c
    water to half cover beans
  • 1/4 small
    onion
  • 4 c
    string beans (cleaned snapped in 2 in. pieces)
  • dash(es)
    salt and pepper ( to your taste )
  • DO NOT ADD POTATOES TILL BEANS ARE TENDER

  • 2 medium
    potatoes cut to medium chunks : )

How to Make String Beans with White Potatoes

Step-by-Step

  1. in a 2.5 quart pot

    add water, bacon, salt & pepper, onion
  2. bring to a roaring boil 5 min.

    add beans
  3. reduce heat to low simmer for 30 min.

    check beans for tenderness
  4. when beans are tender, ADD POTATOES

    again, salt and pepper to taste
  5. simmer till potatoed are tender
