One of my childrens' Grandmother gave me this recipe a long time ago. I've converted a few people to liking sourkraut after they tried this Pork dish.

yield 6 - 8 people.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork chops
  • 1, 15 oz. cans sourkraut
  • 5 - 6 medium potatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • - salt & pepper to your taste

How To Make pork and kraut

  • Step 1
    I use a pressure cooker to cook this recipe. I am sure a slow-cooker would work also. For pressure cookers, put in 1 1/2 - 2 cups of water before adding food. A slow-cooker would need at least 2 1/2 - 3 cups of water.
  • Step 2
    Layer sourkraut (on bottom), a layer of pork chops, and then a layer of potatoes (with or without skins on). I usually make at least 2 layers of the sourkraut, potatoes and pork; seasoning as you layer.
  • Step 3
    Cook 1 hr. in pressure cooker, and let pressure drop completely. Slow-cooker time would be about 4 1/2 - 5 hrs. depending on how full you you make it.
