classic scalloped potatoes
Searching online long enough pays off. I thought I would never find a recipe to duplicate the old fashioned way my mother made those scalloped potatoes I loved so much. Eureka! I think I found it!

Ingredients
- 4 cups potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- - salt and pepper
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1-1/2 cup milk
- 1-1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- - paprika
How To Make classic scalloped potatoes

Step 1Butter a 2qt. baking dish

Step 2melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and whisk in flour, then milk to create a white sauce

Step 3stir in 1 cup of shredded cheese and continue cooking and stirring until cheese melts. Add salt and pepper

Step 4place half the sliced potatoes in baking dish and pour half the cheese mixture over top. Add the rest of the potatoes and then the sauce

Step 5top with remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and sprinkle with paprika.

Step 6cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender
