My father has had two bypass surgery and i wanted to find a healthier way to make his favorite fried potatoes, so here it is!

5-6 large
potatoes( i use russet)
pam cooking spray
mrs.dash salt substitute
you can also use veg. oil sprinkled instead of spray
(some times i use garlic powder, dried dill weed and 2 tbs of cider vinegar instead of mrs. dash)

How to Make Heart Healthy Fried Potatoes


  • 1In a microwave safe baking dish, thinly slice unpeeled potatoes and onions.(you can peel also, i love the flavor with peel)
  • 2Liberally spray potatoes and onions with pam cooking spray.( You can also use veg. oil)
  • 3Sprinkle generous amount of Mrs.dash (or you can use salt and pepper) work all with your hands untill well mixed.
  • 4Cover with clear plastic wrap tightly, cook in microwave for 22 minutes, times may vary in microwaves
