Creamy, cheesy potato side dish. Great with pork or chicken. You can use cream of mushroom, or cream of celery soup instead of chicken. For a variation, stir in some chopped chives or cooked bacon pieces.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make hash brown casserole (slow cooker)

  • Step 1
    Coat the liner of a 4-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, mix all ingredients and combine well. Pour into prepared slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 4-5 hours.
  • Step 3
    Casserole will form a crusty sides and creamy center.
