Ingredients

  • 6 large red potatoes
  • 1 pound bacon
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons celery seeds

How To Make german potato salad

  • Step 1
    Boil potatoes until done but not mushy. Cool and peel. Dice bacon and saute until crisp. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels. Reserve drippings. Add vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper to bacon drippings and simmer until sugar has dissolved. Slice potatoes. Add onion and vinegar mixture to potatoes. Mix carefully. Add bacon pieces and celery seed. This can be served warm or cold. Males 6-8 servings.
