Once baked, the sweet potatoes are dripping in a buttery brown sugar sauce filled with cinnamon flavor. We could seriously have eaten spoonfuls of the sauce.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds fresh sweet potatoes
- 2 cups water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, light
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon all spice (or 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg)

For us, 4 sweet potatoes equaled 3 lbs. There was more than enough sauce so you could probably use up to 6 potatoes.

Step 1Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Peel the sweet potato and place in a baking dish.

Step 2Pour water and vanilla into the baking dish.

Step 3Now, add both sugars, cinnamon, and allspice.

Step 4Sprinkle butter over this.

Step 5Cover the baking pan tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for about 65 minutes.

Step 6Remove sweet potatoes from the oven.

Step 7Slice or mash the potatoes.
