air fryer essentials: crispy, spicy diced potatoes
Made these yesterday as a snack, and at the end decided to kick them up with some hot sauce and butter… glad that I did. I can see serving them as a side with a good pub burger or steak, and as a snack they are awesome. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- PLAN/PURCHASE
- 2 cups russet potatoes, diced
- 2 teaspoons grapeseed oil, or other non-flavored variety
- salt, kosher variety, to taste
- white pepper, freshly ground, to taste
- dried oregano, to taste
- FINISHING TOUCHES
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce, i prefer franks
- 1 tablespoon sweet butter, unsalted

Step 1PREP/PREPARE

Step 2You will need an air fryer, or an oven with a convection setting to make this recipe.

Step 3Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

Step 4Dice the potatoes peel on or off, up to you.

Step 5Add to a bowl of ice water and allow to soak for about 30 minutes.

Step 6Add the potatoes to a mixing bowl and toss with the oil and dry ingredients.

Step 7Add the taters to the basket of your air fryer, set it to 400f (205c), and bake until crispy and golden brown, about 20 – 25 minutes.

Step 8Every five minutes or so, give the basket a shake, to help the taters brown evenly.

Step 9Add the browned taters to a bowl and toss with the butter and hot sauce.

Step 10PLATE/PRESENT

Step 11Serve as a side dish, or just eat as a snack. Enjoy.
