Once a recipe from a Kosher cookbook, it has been modified over the years to become this low-fat version. Just as delicious, and very light and fluffy.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces wide noodles (can use yolk-free)
  • 1 or 2 medium apples, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup raisins
  • - egg beaters (equivalent of 2 eggs)
  • 8 ounces applesauce
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make sweet kugel with apples and raisins

  • Step 1
    While noodles are boiling, core & chop apple(s). Combine with all other ingredients in a bowl; mix thoroughly.
  • Step 2
    Drain noodles; add to other ingredients and combine. Pour into an ungreased glass baking dish (the size will depend on how much you have).
  • Step 3
    Bake in 325 degree oven for approximately 35 minutes, or until top is nice and brown.
