Ingredients

red onion, large
3/4 Tbsp
evoo
3 can(s)
drained and rinsed navy beans
1/2 c
Annie’s Naturals Organic Smoky Maple BBQ Sauce (heaping)
1/4 c
blackstrap molasses
1/3 c
apple cider vinegar
1/4 c
pure maple syrup
3 Tbsp
whole grain dijon mustard
3 Tbsp
tomato paste
2 Tbsp
liquid smoke (optional)

Step-By-Step

1Heat olive oil in a large pot on the stove top over medium heat. Add the onion to the pot and cook until soft (about 5 minutes).
2Add the navy beans, BBQ sauce, molasses, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, mustard, tomato paste, and liquid smoke (if using). Stir everything to combine and bring the ingredients to a low simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
