My Mamaw Woodall made this when i was a child her mother before her and my mother and now me .Down home Kentucky recipe .

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 1/2 cups diced celery
  • 3 cups chicken stock
  • 2 - bags herbed bread crumbs
  • 2 - bags plain bread crumbs
  • 2 cups cooked pototoes chunks
  • 1 - small skillet of corn bread crumbled
  • - poultry seasoning just a pinch or two
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 - hard boiled eggs optional
  • 1 cup turkey drippings when turkey is done

How To Make moms thanksgiving stuffing

  • Step 1
    mix all ingredients together add some of the broth from the pototoes too . and if it is to thin add some bread crumbs or corn bread after all ingredients are mixed together put in butterd cock pot or baking pan.You want it moist but frim. If its to dry add any of the liquids .you can put it in your cockpot on low for 6 hours or cover with foil and at 350 for 2 hours. you can stuff your turkey if you like and plus have stuffing on the side thats how we do it.And when your turkey is done put about a cup of drippings over your stuffing.
