mom's barley casserole
We all have that one recipe that if we didn't have it for thanksgiving or Christmas dinner wouldn't be the same, well this one is ours. My Mom made this all the time for our dinners and its one of my Favourite dishes. This dish needs to be made up the night before. Enjoy

Ingredients
- - 1/2 cup butter
- - 1 cup onion
- - 1 can of whole mushrooms sliced in half
- - 1 cup chicken stalk
- - 1 cup pearl barley
- - 1/2 cup slivered almonds
How To Make mom's barley casserole

Step 1In a frying pan add butter and sauté onions for about 1 minute. Add mushrooms and fry for a minute longer. Then add your chicken stalk and barley. Pour into a casserole dish and let sit over night.

Step 2When ready to cook, preheat oven at 350. cook covered for 30 minutes. Add 1/2 cup slivered almonds stir well and bake for 40 minutes more Enjoy
