Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons hungarian paprika
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin seed
  • 2 teaspoons ground fennel seed
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons ground cayenne pepper
  • 5 tablespoons ground coriander seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

How To Make homemade curry powder (sallye)

  • Step 1
NOTES: **Smoked Hungarian paprika gives a more robust flavor than regular (or sweet paprika) **This spice mixture will last indefinitely if kept in airtight conainer in cool dry place ***Dried cilantro leaves can be substituted for coriander seeds
  • Step 2
Easy way is to place all ingredients in airtight glass jar, screw lid on tightly and shake vigorously until all spices are well blended. Make sure there is about 1" of space in jar so spices will have room to tumble around and mix together. You can store this in the same jar you mixed it in. Alternate is to place in mixing bowl and mix with fork or whisk until all spices are well blended, then pour into airtight container and store in cool dry place.
