Homemade Applesauce

Missy Wimpelberg

My daughter made this tonight and it was wonderful. The entire family loved it. It was very easy to make, and much better than those store bought jars. It will keep in the refrigerator for a few weeks.

PLEASE NOTE: The picture looks really dark, it was not that dark, it seems to be the lighting in my room and camera. It is actually a caramel color.

How to Make Homemade Applesauce

  1. Place apples, water, sugar and cinnamon in pot and cook on medium to medium high for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then once soft, mash with potato masher or emulsion blender until desired consistency.
  2. Please note, feel free to adjust the sugar to your level. We like ours a little sweet, if you do not by all means reduce a little.
  3. *Our family is large, so if you want a smaller batch, then half the recipe.
