fried corn
(1 RATING)
This recipe was handed down to my mother from her mother to me and my sisters. It is over 65 years old. Delicious and YES fattening.... I hope you will enjoy. It is Addicting, to say the least ! My family is from the South and we do have a few Northerners in our big family. They thought fried corn was just ridiculous and looked like mush--lol-- Now, all we hear is, PLEASE COOK YOUR FRIED CORN AND MAKE ALOT !! If you wish to make a bigger batch of this, use at least 24 ears of corn and add the water & flour to make a consistency that almost will look kinda runny. The flour is what will thicken.

- in a preferably cast iron skillet or a non stick will work also
- add one to two sticks of real butter sweetened or your choice
- i also use a few tablespoons of any type of left over oil from meat drippings i save for flavoring taste to the butter in the pan
- let the butter and drippings heat to where it has melted
- pour in the grated corn to the pan
- continue to stir constantly
