i always mix this in greens and great northern beans and pinto bean soup.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups chopped green cabbage
  • 2 cups chopped onion
  • 2 cups chopped green sweet pepper
  • 2 cups chopped green tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 8 cups water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons mustard seed
  • 4 cups vinegar

How To Make chow chow relish

  • Step 1
    Wash all vegtables thoroughly. peel onions and remove pepper seeds. chop all vegtables and measure. dissolve salt in 8 cups water. pour over vegtables. let stand one hour. drain and taste. if to salty, rinse again. Mix vegtables with sugar, mustard seed, and vinegar, simmer 20 min, then bring to a full boil. pack boiling hot, into hot jars and seal at once.
