ann's (walt's) pickles

This is from my friend Ann who is a wonderful cook. She has used this recipe for years.

Ingredients For ann's (walt's) pickles

  • 4 c
    white sugar
  • 2 c
    white vinegar
  • 2 tsp
    pickling salt or kosher salt
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    celery seed
  • 1 tsp
    mustard seed
  • 4
    cucumbers, sliced
  • 4
    onions, sliced

How To Make ann's (walt's) pickles

    Boil all brine ingredients together and then cool.

    Pour over sliced cucumbers and onions
  • 3
    Put in fridge for 4 days - stir every day with wooden spoon. Makes enough for a 3.79 liter bucket with lid.
