This is from my friend Ann who is a wonderful cook. She has used this recipe for years.

Ingredients

  • 4 c
    white sugar
  • 2 c
    white vinegar
  • 2 tsp
    pickling salt or kosher salt
  • 1 tsp
    turmeric
  • 1 tsp
    celery seed
  • 1 tsp
    mustard seed
  • 4
    cucumbers, sliced
  • 4
    onions, sliced

How to Make Ann's (Walt's) Pickles

Step-by-Step

  1. Boil all brine ingredients together and then cool.
  2. Pour over sliced cucumbers and onions
  3. Put in fridge for 4 days - stir every day with wooden spoon. Makes enough for a 3.79 liter bucket with lid.
