mothers cranberry sauce

Mother made this every Thanksgiving and Christmas as a side for her turkey, one year when she left the cooking up to us I made it she didn't like mine and insisted that I put something in it that I shouldn't. (I did it was celery she never let me forget it.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberrys
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugars
  • 1/2 box cherry jello ( small box)
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1/4 cup pecans (chopped )

How To Make mothers cranberry sauce

  • Step 1
    In a large sauce pan put cranberries and water. Cook on med. Stirring often.
  • Step 2
    When the berries and water come to a simmer and berries begin to pop add sugar , jello and orange juice.
  • Step 3
    When berries are done popping remove from heat add orange zest and pecans mix well let cool.
