fried apples and onions
My great grandmother used to serve onions and apples with pork quite often. This is as close as I could get to hers, but she usually used an iron skillet.

Ingredients
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 6 large cooking apples, unpeeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
How To Make fried apples and onions

Step 1Saute the onions in melted butter in a large saucepan over medium heat until tender.

Step 2Place the apple slices on top of the onions. Combine the brown sugar and the remaining ingredients. Sprinkle over the apple slices. Cover and simmer for 12 to 14 minutes.

Step 3Uncover and simmer an additional 5 minutes or until the apple slices are tender. Serve with a slotted spoon.
