bonnie’s autumn pear sauce

I was cooking pork chops for dinner and this idea popped into my head that a pear sauce might taste really good with pork. So I made this dish with our fresh pears, and it was on the table in less than ten minutes. This sauce was the perfect complement to our evening meal, and I’m happy to share this recipe with you. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe pears, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

How To Make bonnie’s autumn pear sauce

  • Pears in Pyrex.
    Step 1
    Put all ingredients in a large 4 cup Pyrex measuring cup.
  • Stir to combine.
    Step 2
    Stir to combine.
  • Cover tightly with Saran or Glad Wrap.
    Step 3
    Cover tight with Saran Wrap.
  • Pears in microwave.
    Step 4
    Microwave two minutes and mash with a potato masher. It is supposed to be chunky.
  • Drain pears after microwaving.
    Step 5
    Drain in a strainer.
  • Autumn Pear Sauce.
    Step 6
    Serve warm with pork or chicken.
  • All gone!  Yummy!
