This pesto is a little different... it has walnuts in it! But it is really good. I like it on Tricuits.

olive oil, extra virgin
cloves of garlic
1 c
fresh basil leaves
1 can(s)
1 c
freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 c
extra virgin olive oil
salt and black pepper to taste

How to Make Joan's Pesto


  • 1Blend the 1/2 cup of olive oil,the lemon juice,basil leaves,walnuts and grated parmesan cheese in a food processor until all ingredients are integrated.
  • 2With the processor running, slowly the 1 cup of olive oil until the mixture becomes a thick slightly textured paste.
  • 3enjoy on bruchetta, in soups, or on crackers.
