This is a great recipe for sauce, but for marinade, just add 1/4 cup water

Add to Grocery List

  • 1/4 c
    gluten-free soy sauce
  • 1/4 c
    water (for marinade) or use 1 cup (for sauce)
  • 1/2 tsp
    powdered ginger
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown sugar ( for marinade) 5 tbsp ( for sauce)
  • 1-2 Tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp
    corn starch (for sauce)
  • 1/4 c
    cold water (for sauce)

How to Make Teriyaki Sauce or marinade


  1. Mix together every thing but the cornstarch and the 1/4 cup water. Bring to boil stirring constantly.
  2. Mix cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Add to first heated mixture. Cook until thick, adding more water if necessary.
  3. For marinade, put first 6 ingredients in a Ziploc bag and add thinly sliced raw sirloin steak.
