Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons drippings from roasting pan
- 3 cups water from the potatoes
- 1 tablespoon arrowroot or cornstarck ( dissolved in 1/4 cup cool water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make old fashioned simple gravy

Step 1Add 1 cup of the potato cooking water to the roasting pan stir and scrape vigorously to get all the drippings and browned bits dissolved.

Step 2Then pour the stock through a small strainer into a sauce pan.

Step 3Bring the stock to a rapid biol and reduce the liquid by a third this will take about 5 minutes.

Step 4Reduce the heat to medium low so the liquid is just simmering.

Step 5Drizzle in the arrowroot or cornstarch water slurry stirring constantly ( make sure the gravy is not boiling ).

Step 6The gravy will thicken rapidly you may not need all of the thickener to reach the consistency you like.
