An easy to make great addition to yiour holiday table. Much tastier than the canned variety.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange rind

How To Make fresh whole cranberry sauce (sallye)

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients in heavy saucepan over medium high heat. Stir well with wooden spoon to make sure all ingredients are blended. Bring to a boil, then turn heat down to low. Allow to simmerabout 10 minutes until cranberries begin to pop open. Cook for 2-3 more minutes until sauce begins to thicken. NOTE: IF YOU OVERCOOK, CRANBERRIES WILL BECOME TOUGH AND BITTER Stir often to avoid sticking and/or scorching.
  • Step 2
    When sauce begins to thicken, remove from heat and transfer to serving dish. You can either serve immediately or place covered in fridge until ready to use.
