I found this simple recipe on a tomato can label. Sounds so easy and with these ingredients, it has to be yummy. Perfect for serving with cut up vegetables or toasted bread cubes.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1 c
    diced canned tomatoes, drained
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/4 c
    reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 8 oz
    white cheddar cheese, grated
  • 6 slice
    cooked bacon, finely chopped
  • ·
    assorted vegetables and bread cubes

How to Make CHEDDAR, BACON & TOMATO DIP

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt butter and cook the tomatoes and garlic, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Add oregano and black pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together chicken broth and cornstarch. Add to tomato mixture and simmer, stirring, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the white cheddar by handfuls until completely melted. Add cooked bacon and serve warm with vegetables, cut up, or toasted bread cubes, or crackers.
