I found this simple recipe on a tomato can label. Sounds so easy and with these ingredients, it has to be yummy. Perfect for serving with cut up vegetables or toasted bread cubes. Photo: allrecipes.com

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup diced canned tomatoes, drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 8 ounces white cheddar cheese, grated
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, finely chopped
  • - assorted vegetables and bread cubes

How To Make cheddar, bacon & tomato dip

  • Step 1
    In a large pot over medium-low heat, melt butter and cook the tomatoes and garlic, stirring frequently, for about 5 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Add oregano and black pepper.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, stir together chicken broth and cornstarch. Add to tomato mixture and simmer, stirring, about 1 minute.
  • Step 3
    Add the white cheddar by handfuls until completely melted. Add cooked bacon and serve warm with vegetables, cut up, or toasted bread cubes, or crackers.
