This is an old recipe given to me by my, "Canning buddy" years ago. It's written by hand on a slip of paper. I don't know where this recipe came from, it's one of those handed down from someone who found it somewhere or got it from someone from somewhere. I remember making this and it was sooooo good!

  • 10 c
    tomatoes: cored, peeled, seeded, and chopped
  • 5 c
    green peppers: seeded and chopped
  • 5 c
    chopped onions
  • 2 1/2 c
    hot peppers: seeded and chopped
  • 1 1/4 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 3 clove
    garlic: minced
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 tsp
    hot pepper sauce

How to Make Zesty Salsa


  1. Combine all ingredients in a huge pot
  2. Bring to a boil, simmer 10 minutes
  3. pack salsa into pint jars: This recipe makes 6 pints
  4. Hot water bath 15 minutes
