This is a nice basic tomato sauce you can cook in minutes and still has the favor of slow hour taste.. I make this lot... I use this for my Baked Red eggs... yummo

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 1 small
    red onion,finely sliced
  • 1
    garlic cloves , minced
  • 2 can(s)
    petite diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp
    crumbled dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/8 tsp
    red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 c
    chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 4 c
    low-sodium vegetable broth

How to Make Spicy Tomato Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over med heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened., 4 minutes. Add the garlic and basil; cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant., 1 minute. then add the tomato, pepper flakes and salt, bring it to a boil. reduce the heat and simmer until thicken stirring to avoid sticking. Stir in the parsley..
  2. Transfer 1 cup to container and cool for 4 days for later use..
