This simple salsa is excellent with corn tortilla chips, on fajitas or even as a zesty addition to a bowl of your favorite soup.

While the heat index is surprisingly low compared to what you might think, it is not for the faint of heart.

Ingredients

3 lb
fresh jalapenos, stems removed
3 Tbsp
garlic powder
3/4 Tbsp
cumino
1/2 bunch
cilantro
2
limes, juiced
salt and freshly ground pepper

How to Make Salsa Verde

Step-by-Step

  • 1Boil jalapenos in large pot until soft, approximately 15 minutes
  • 2Transfer soft jalapenos to food processor with approximately 1 cup of water from pot and process 3 minutes until mixture is very smooth
  • 3Add galic powder, cumin, lime juice, cilantro and lime and process for another 30 seconds
  • 4Add salt and pepper to taste
