kris's salsa
(1 RATING)
The best salsa we've ever tasted! This recipe was given to me from a dear friend. This was the first time I have ever canned anything! The salsa turned out wonderful! Every pint and quart sealed plus the taste is AWESOME!!

Ingredients
- 25 large tomatoes
- 3 large onions
- 4 large green peppers
- 3 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon dried garlic - can be flakes or powder or can also use fresh
- 1/2 cup white distilled vinegar
- 1/8 cup canning salt (approx. 2 tablespoons)
How To Make kris's salsa
-
Step 1Dice up all ingredients and boil for 5 minutes.
-
Step 2Thicken with equal parts of corn starch and water. *1/2 cup corn starch dissolved in 1/2 cup cold water worked for each batch for me.
-
Step 3Boil 5 more minutes. Fill sterilized jars to 1/4 inch from the top of the jar. Seal with sterilized lids and rings and boil in hot water bath for 15 minutes for pints and 20 minutes for quarts. You can adjust the ingredients to your taste. Enjoy!!
