With everyone watching sugar and salt intakes, I've modified many of my quick and favorite recipes for those days that are hectic and when a meal on the table needs to be fast and easy! I've been making my own salsa for years, and have discovered salsa verde and how easy it is to prepare and enjoy. Try my low salt/low sugar recipe with your favorite baked chips and I know you'll enjoy it too!

serves 3 cups
prep time 25 Min
cook time 20 Min

  •   1 1/2 lb
  •   1/2 c
    chopped white onion
  •   1/2 c
    fresh cilantro
  •   1 Tbsp
    fresh lime juice
  •   1/4 tsp
    splenda or truvia
  •   2
jalapeno peppers or serrano peppers chopped, stemmed and seeded.
mrs.dash garlic and herb seasoning to taste.

How To Make

  • 1
Remove the husks from the tomatillos and rinse.
  • 2
Cut the tomatillos in half and place onto a foil lined cookie sheet. Put the sheet under the broiler for 7 minutes to roast and slightly blacken the skin. Roasting imparts a heartier flavor to the salsa than boiling.
  • 3
Place the tomatillos and other ingredients (except the seasoning) into a food processor and pulse until chopped and mixed thoroughly.
  • 4
Finely, season to taste with Mrs. Dash and refrigerate until cool.
  • 5
    Coma Caluroso! (Eat heartily!)
