This is a spicy sauce I created. Not for the little ones or faint of heart.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

What an easy to make, flavorful hot dog sauce. The balance of flavors is spot on and similar to a Tex-Mex chili. It's savory with a kick. We did use the 7 tsp of chili powder and it was perfect for our palate. If you don't like things hot, just cut back on the chili powder. The chili and cumin mingle together perfectly. Once simmered, the meat has a smooth texture. A delicious topping for your hot dog.

  • Spices and tomato sauce in a skillet.
Combine all spices & tomato sauce in a large skillet.
  • Adding hamburger meat to the skillet.
    Add raw hamburger.
  • Simmering the meat over low heat.
Cook over low heat or in a Crock Pot for 3 hours, stirring occasionally (not if in a Crock Pot).
  • Hot dog topped with sauce and onion.
Serve on a hot dog with a roll. Add raw onion and mustard (buried).
  • A bowl of You Saucey Little Dog Sauce.
Can easily double or triple the recipe. Freezes well.
