you saucey little dog sauce (hot dog sauce)
This is a spicy sauce I created. Not for the little ones or faint of heart.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
What an easy to make, flavorful hot dog sauce. The balance of flavors is spot on and similar to a Tex-Mex chili. It's savory with a kick. We did use the 7 tsp of chili powder and it was perfect for our palate. If you don't like things hot, just cut back on the chili powder. The chili and cumin mingle together perfectly. Once simmered, the meat has a smooth texture. A delicious topping for your hot dog.

How To Make you saucey little dog sauce (hot dog sauce)
Test Kitchen Tips
We cooked ours on the stovetop low and covered. We stirred often and had to add a little water about halfway through the cooking process.
-
Step 1Combine all spices & tomato sauce in a large skillet.
-
Step 2Add raw hamburger.
-
Step 3Cook over low heat or in a Crock Pot for 3 hours, stirring occasionally (not if in a Crock Pot).
-
Step 4Serve on a hot dog with a roll. Add raw onion and mustard (buried).
-
Step 5Can easily double or triple the recipe. Freezes well.
