Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine (or dry sherry)
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds (ground)
  • 2 teaspoons green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon black bean paste
  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce (hot, i.e. red rooster)
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • salt, to taste

How To Make yangnyum kanjang (bulgogi dipping sauce)

  • Step 1
    Whisk first 8 ingredients together in a small bowl.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl, or mortar and pestle, crush garlic, sugar and salt to a paste. Stir into bowl and mix well.
  • Step 3
    Serve in small individual sauce dishes.
