Trying to cut salt in your diet. Here are three different seasonings that you might want to give a try. I had to adjust my cooking years ago when my husband was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I learned then to season differently so we wouldn't miss the salt. Now most foods taste too salty to both of us.

  • SALT FREE SEASONING #1

  • 1 Tbsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 1 tsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1 tsp
    parsley, flakes
  • 1 tsp
    savory
  • 1 tsp
    mace, ground
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    sage, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    cayenne pepper
  • SALT FREE SEASONING #2

  • 2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 tsp
    basil, dried
  • 1 tsp
    oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp
    lemon peel
  • SALT FREE SEASONING #3

  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    dry mustard, i prefer coleman's
  • 1/2 tsp
    thyme, dried
  • 1/2 tsp
    paprika, sweet mild
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp
    celery seed

How to Make Three Salt-free Seasonings

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container. You can keep a portion of each of these seasonings in a shaker and just shake over your dish as you would salt.
    Try these on soups and meats too when cooking.
