teriyaki sauce

My sister gave me this recipe. My husband and I both really like teriyaki so it is nice to be able to just make it at home now. You can use fresh or powdered ginger and I have substituted pinneapple juice for some of the water when I have it on hand. I just don't use as much honey when I use pinneapple juice.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 5 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoon honey
  • COMBINE ABOVE INGREDIENTS IN A SAUCEPAN AND BEGIN HEATING.
  • 2 tablespoons cornstartch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • STIR CORNSTARTCH INTO WATER UNTIL WELL COMBINED AND ADD TO SAUCEPAN.

How To Make teriyaki sauce

  • Step 1
    Cook and stir over medium heat until desired thickness is reached. Serve over chicken, pork or beef or use as a marinade for shrimp or a glaze for salmon.
