taco seasoning mix
I have decided on Sunday I will make a Tamale Casserole. I made my own Taco Seasoning for this recipe since I didn't have any on hand.

yield
4 serving(s)
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons crushed red pepper flakes
- 1-1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons arrow root starch
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
How To Make taco seasoning mix
-
Step 1Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix with a wire whisk.
-
Step 2Put into a jar with a tight fitting lid and label. Store in a cool dry place.
-
Step 3This will last for up to 6 months. This will make 6-1 1/4 oz. packets (2 tbsp. each)
-
Step 4If you use this in a taco, brown 1 lb. of lean ground meat (beef, turkey, chicken) over med. heat in a fry pan. Reduce and cover and simmer for 10 minutes, stir occasionally. Makes enough to fill 8-10 tacos.
-
Step 5Enjoy!
